Personality: + Confident – When given the opportunity, Kirishima is always ready to show his own and take on any challenge placed before him. Though his confidence in himself was shaky when he was younger- and still manifests in some ways even now- he’s made huge leaps and bounds to focus on what he can do, not what he can’t do. + Supportive – Kirishima is nothing if not a fiercely supportive person. He’s always there for his friends, always. He’s the kind of guy who will lend an unbiased ear for venting or be a shoulder to cry on, no questions asked. He is, quite literally, a rock and takes pride in being able to be there for people not just in a physical saving-them-from-danger sort of way. Being a hero means being there for people emotionally too, after all! + Loyal/Dedicated – Out of all of the students in class 1-A, Kirishima is unique in that he seems to be the only one who can make friends with everyone, managing to make friends with both Bakugou and Midoriya simultaneously despite the two being at such odds. He’s fiercely loyal to all of his friends, but Bakugou specifically, claiming him to be one of his best friends. Bakugou is such an abrasive and aggressive person that he hardly is friends with anyone, but Kirishima he considers to be on his level as an equal. Similarly, Kirishima admires Bakugou’s tenacity and boldness, calling his attitude manly. His dedication to Bakugou runs deep as he was willing to break the rules and act outside of hero conduct to try and rescue him from being kidnapped. + Resourceful – Kirishima has shown that he’s able to make quick decisions and alter tactics on the fly if need be. He’s certainly not as quick thinking as the likes of Midoriya, but he’s not just a meathead who tries to blast through everything using sheer force, either. He’s learned ways to counter even the strongest of opponents with his Quirk, as well as use his own to his advantage to keep himself at arm’s length, able to prolong altercations long enough for him to decide his next move. + Passionate – One of Kirishima’s most defining traits is his passion for striving to become a great hero. He bases his ideals on striving to be “manly”, a trait he considers worthy of applying to anything or anyone strong, brave, bold, and heroic. Despite his occasional tendency to be a bit loud and frightening on a surface level due to his boisterous personality coupled with his quirk, he’s surprisingly gentle and chivalrous and considers camaraderie among rivals to be one of the most respectful things about being a hero. / Critical/Self-doubting – Despite Kirishima’s drive, one of his biggest shortcomings is that he’s far too hard (ha) on himself. Kirishima struggles with his opinion of his Quirk quite often, particularly comparing it to others in saying that his Quirk isn’t really as flashy or useful as the Quirks used by heroes of today, not limited to those in his class. He worries that he’s not doing enough, that he’ll end up falling behind and not actually achieve as much as those around him. He talks big and has the right ideals, but when it comes right down to the heat of the moment he’s been known to second guess himself and wonder if, perhaps, he’s not the right person to handle things after all. / Insecure – Tying into the last point, Kirishima’s self-doubt bleeds over into his opinion of himself, not just in regards to his Quirk oftentimes. It’s the very reason he completely reinvented himself when he moved from middleschool to highschool, changing his hair style and his mannerisms in an attempt to reflect his new outlook on life. He wasn’t going to hesitate any longer and he wasn’t going to let others do all of the hero work. Like with all things, though, his worries and insecurities still resurface from time to time, particularly during the instance where he felt powerless to save Bakugou when he was captured. He felt equally powerless to do anything afterwards either, willing to go down the wrong path just for the sake of redeeming himself in his own eyes for failing to be there for his friend. / Stubborn – Kirishima can be hardheaded both literally and figuratively. When he gets it in mind to do something, he’ll keep throwing himself at it until he breaks it down, or until it breaks him down enough for him to realize that maybe he needs to try to do something else. His personality centers around the idea of what can’t break me can be broken, and what can pass his defenses just needs to be attacked from a different angle. There’s no such thing as giving up, and he won’t settle for quitting. / Smart…but not studious – Kirishima is no pushover when it comes to thinking quickly on his feet during training or a serious battle, but his attention to his general studies leave something to be desired. He ranked 15th in his class in terms of grades for midterms, and ultimately scored low enough that he had to take supplementary classes during the summer training camp, taking away time he wanted to spend training his Quirk with his fellow classmates. Similar to others like Kaminari and Mina, Kirishima isn’t the best when it comes to managing high marks in his classes, and sometimes ends up slacking as a result. / Reckless – He’s been shown to be willing to throw himself into direct danger for the sake of others, as most heroes. Kirishima in particular feels that this sort of behavior is a responsibility of his specifically. His Quirk makes him the perfect shield, after all, and he can shoulder damage that would kill a normal person. He doesn’t do this to gain some sort of status, but because he thinks it’s the right thing to do. Of course, Kirishima isn’t invincible, and he’s learned that even he, too, can be broken down no matter what he’s trying to defend someone else from. Powers and Abilities: In Kirishima’s world, people are born with abilities known as Quirks that give them a various range of special powers and abilities. Kirishima’s Quirk is as follows: Quirk: Hardening Kirishima’s Quirk allows him to harden any (literally any; even his hair and eyes are affected) part of his body, causing it to become sharp and unyielding like rock or granite. When his Quirk is active, he’s also given enhanced strength and durability, both much stronger and capable of absorbing huge amounts of damage without getting hurt. While hardened, he’s able to use his body to break surfaces that would normally be impossible. He’s seen digging his fingers through solid concrete, breaking down walls, and bashing his way through steel with no difficulty. However, there is a limit to how much damage he’s able to take over time, and when he becomes fatigued by prolonged repeated attacks he won’t be able to maintain his hardness any longer. His hardening also protects him from the affects of other conditions such as heat and shockwaves. He has a few moves he utilizes in his form, as well as a Super Move that he’s capable of performing- Super Move: Red Riot Unbreakable: “Unbreakable” is a technique that Kirishima has devised in which he will harden his body to its upper limits, every part of him becoming rocky and rugged to the point where he looks more monster than human. He can only maintain this form for 30-40 seconds, but while in it he is virtually invulnerable to most attacks. Inventory: - A bottle of hair-gel, industrial strength/size. Kirishima’s go-to brand from home that he uses pretty much daily. - A Crimson Riot action figure - Red Riot mask. Kirishima’s mask that he wears with his hero costume.
